Campaign is going great, more ideas coming to life, and more underway. Really pleased with how everything is going. Shame there’s so much crap going round like ‘that group’s copying them, this groups copying that.’ you nearly forget we are 18 years plus! :S :/

Dunno ’bout you, but why would anyone’s campaign want to be like anybody else’s, its all about creating an individual identity. There’s bound to be similar ideas flying about, hear a few myself but I swear its pissin’ me off now. The whole project is about showing our skills, making things we are proud of and most off all having fun. And that is what we are trying to do. Just my opinion, not my groups

Yeah so really enjoying this, keep up the good work everyone.

Filming – Day Three.

Had some fun over the last 3 days filming, guess that’s one of the most important things about this project. But we’ve also raised greater awareness about our campaign. We caused a few crowds in town, the word is spreading.

Editing has begun. But we are going to film one last thing. Excited exciteddd

Filming – Day One.

So.. we picked up the kit today at 3pm, set up and then shot some footage for our 3 min campaign video and extra footage for the website and youtube. How good it is to see all of our meetings and planning pay off

Me and Dave captured the footage and it looks good. So far fills the aim of being fresh and simple.

Getting up early tomorrow to film in Bournemouth, looking forward to it, hope the weather is good!

So tired now though but thought I’d let you know what we’re up to and all that!

The shoot is approaching…

Well, only 3 days left until our 2 and a half day shoot begins! We are all very excited to get stuck in and start filming. As director I cannot wait to see our vision come to life. This campaign is designed to be fresh, inviting and it is totally designed with you in mind. We will address the issues that matter to you, because you and your vote are important.

The website is looking fantastic so far, I don’t think we could have better IMPs on board! Everything is coming together nicely. Like most people, we are not going to give too much away, all will be revealed in the final product…

Here’s some information on the Liberal Democrats:

Party Name: The Liberal Democrats
Colour: Gold (yellow)
Slogan: “Make It Happen”

Leader: Nick Clegg
Deputy Leader: Vince Cable

Manifesto in brief: The party was formed in 1988 after a merger of the Liberal and Social Democrat parties.
They promote social liberalism and want to minimise state interference in personal affairs, accusing the current government of being a ‘nanny state’. They promote their brand of politics as ‘power to the people’
They are pro-EU, anti-Iraq and have strong environmental views. They firmly oppose the more authoritarion of Labour’s anti-terror laws, including the ‘detention without trial’ rule, and are against a British national identity card.

Key Policies:

The abolishing of tuition and top-up fees, as they believe education should be free for everyone.
Raise funding for the most disadvantaged school children, and cut infant class sizes down to 15.
Price transport according to its effect on the environment, and provide real sustainable alternatives for passengers.
Lower taxes for poor and middle-class people, and raise the taxes on the rich.
Increase the UK’s internation aid and support fair trade.
While they are pro-EU, they want a referendum for the people on whether we stay or leave the EU.

Party Research – Respect

Hiya here’s my research into Respect

Respect – The Unity Coalition is a left wing political party in England and Wales founded on 25 January 2004 in London. Its name is an acronym standing for Respect, Equality, Socialism, Peace, Environmentalism, Community, and Trade Unionism.

Respect was created in January 2004, using the issue of the war in Iraq to mobilise its vote. Beyond this issue it has attempted to “provide a broad-based and inclusive alternative to the parties of privatisation, war, and occupation” and have a broad socialist agenda.
Some of the policies on which it has also campaigned include:
Renationalisation of the railways and other public services.

Opposition to the perceived privatisation of the National Health Service and the education system, including opposition to university tuition fees and support for pensions increases linked to average earnings.

Raising the minimum wage to the European Union’s “decency threshold” of £7.40 an hour.

An increase in income taxes on the rich to fund social welfare programs and close the income gap.

The repeal of the industrial relations legislation brought in by the Conservative Party in the 1980s.

The defence of the rights of refugees and other asylum-seekers.
Opposition to the “stability pact” that the European Union seeks to impose on all those who join the euro.

Support for the Palestinian people and ending British tolerance of various Israeli policies regarding the Palestinians.

Support for the British environmental movement.

To support and mediate the Kashmir core-issue between Pakistan and the Republic of India to resolve the dispute peacefully that must involve the Kashmiris themselves to decide with the International Community by respecting various UN Resolutions.

In their founding constitution the founding parties state their overall aim as to “help create a socially just and ecologically sustainable society”, giving a definition of social justice that includes “the organisation of society in the most open, participative, and accountable way practicable based on common ownership and democratic control”.
